Italian Greyhound Clothes Guide › Which Italian Greyhound Bodysuit Is Right for Your Weather?
From Houndz in the Hood, based on the fitting notes of founder Terri Goodwillie, who has made clothes for Italian Greyhounds in New York City since 1999. Updated October 2026.
Short answer: pick by your coldest regular walk. Indoor/Outdoor for 45°F and up, Heavy Fleece for 45°F down to the 20s, Windblock when wind and snow are the problem, and Extra Heavy Windblock for single-digit days.
All of these are one-piece, four-leg suits, the style many owners call an Italian Greyhound onesie or jumpsuit.

The fabrics
- Indoor/Outdoor: a soft, medium-weight fleece that resists wind and rain. The only bodysuit made to wear inside as well as out.
- Heavy Fleece: thick, warm polar fleece for winter walks. It resists wind and snow.
- Windblock: three layers: a velvety outer fleece treated to repel water and stains, a polyurethane layer in the middle that blocks wind and snow, and a textured inner fleece for insulation.
- Extra Heavy Windblock: the same three-layer build in a much thicker fleece. It feels like a jacket in the shape of a bodysuit, and is our warmest.
Hood or no hood?
Hooded styles have a sewn-in hood with no strings or attachments that covers the head, ears and neck without blocking your dog’s vision, plus a second leash opening on the hood. Choose a hood if your Iggy tucks its head down against wind or has cold ears.
Quick picks
- Mild winters, or one suit for indoors and out: Indoor/Outdoor Bodysuits
- Typical northern winter walks: Heavy Fleece Bodysuits or Windblock Fleece Bodysuits
- Windy city corners and snow: Windblock Fleece Hooded Bodysuits
- The coldest places: Extra Heavy Windblock Fleece Hooded Bodysuits
Every winter fleece is for outside wear only. Take it off indoors so your dog doesn’t overheat.
