Short answer: measure your Italian Greyhound’s length (base of the neck to the base of the tail) and girth (the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs), then match both to the size chart below. If they point to different sizes, go by the chest.
What you need
A soft tape measure, your dog standing square, and a second person to help if your Iggy wriggles.
Step by step
- Length: start at the base of the neck, about 1.5 inches in front of the withers (where a collar sits), and measure along the back to the base of the tail.
- Girth: wrap the tape around the largest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. Keep it snug but not tight.
- Weight and age: note both. They help confirm the size, especially for young dogs.
