Italian Greyhound Clothes Guide › An Italian Greyhound Wardrobe for Every Season
From Houndz in the Hood, based on the fitting notes of founder Terri Goodwillie, who has made clothes for Italian Greyhounds in New York City since 1999. Updated October 2026.
Short answer: most Iggy owners end up with three kinds of clothes: a winter bodysuit for walks, a lighter layer for fall and spring, and something soft for the house and bed. Here is how to build that wardrobe season by season.
Winter
Outside, your Iggy needs full coverage of the chest, belly and legs. Choose by your coldest days:
- Heavy Fleece Bodysuits ($70) for 45°F down to the 20s
- Windblock Fleece Bodysuits ($78) when wind and snow are the problem
- Extra Heavy Windblock Fleece Bodysuit ($85) or Extra Heavy Windblock Fleece Hooded Bodysuits ($95) for the harshest weather
A hooded style adds a sewn-in hood that covers the head, ears and neck, with a second leash opening on the hood.
Fall and spring
Indoor/Outdoor Bodysuits ($58) are a soft, medium-weight fleece for 45°F and above that resists wind and rain, and can be worn inside too. Heavy Fleece Sweaters ($46) cover the chest and front legs on chilly, windy days.
Summer
Rompers ($45) and Lightweight Shirts ($34) are stretchy, breathable cotton for air-conditioned houses and cars, travel and sun protection. Rompers can even be wetted down to help keep your dog cool outside.
Indoors, all year
Jammies ($48) are soft micro fleece for lounging and sleeping. Heavyweight Sweatshirts ($38) are heavy fleeced cotton for a chilly house or a cool day when a sweater is too much.
A simple starter wardrobe
- One winter bodysuit matched to your climate
- One Indoor/Outdoor Bodysuit or sweater for in-between weather
- One pair of Jammies for the house
Orders over $125 ship free in the US, which a winter bodysuit plus a second piece usually reaches.
