Fitted to the Dachshund
Shaped for Dachshunds and dogs with rounded bodies, low tucks and short legs, in 5 sizes from the smallest Miniature to the longest Standard. Our first Dachshund Bodysuit was made in 1998 for Lucy, a mini Dachshund in New York City, cut to her length, girth and leg length. Since 1999, every Houndz in the Hood pattern has been sized and shaped to the breed, the way a dressmaker fits a client.
Choosing a size
Measure length (base of the neck, about 1" in front of the withers, to the base of the tail) and girth (the largest chest circumference, behind the front legs), then compare with the Dachshund sizing guide. Dachshund chests can be 3-4" larger than their length, and Miniature puppies and in-betweenies have their own sizes in the guide. If your dog is between sizes or a mix, send us the measurements and we’ll help you choose.
